The 2024 election of Bangladesh, is termed as lopsided as no party other than the ruling Awami League’s alliance partners is participating in the election. Despite the absence of any viable opposition, Awami League had to promise their alliance partners seats in the parliament to persuade them to join the poll and to make the election look participatory, the chief of Awami League, self-styled Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked her party to field ‘dummy’ candidates. Hence, the election became popular among the masses as a ‘dummy’ election.
